Leo Club

Society & Club Review :-



L = Leadership
E = Experience
O = Opportunity


Provides opportunity for youths to experience leadership, by holding post or by become an organizing chairperson of a project (member)
To develop soft skills amongst the youths, ie time management, effective way of communication, organizing projects, teamwork, leadership, self-esteem, critical thinking, presentation etc
To become a more caring and responsible citizen by caring out or participating in environmental, community service and charitable projects.
To widen personal social cycle as there are hundreds of lions and leo clubs throughout Malaysia.


Nature of projects:

1) CATEGORY: COMMUNITY SERVICE
(a) BLOOD DONATION
(b) KIDNEY HEALTH SCREENING TEST
(c) VISIT OLD-FOLK’S HOME – PAINTING ACTIVITIES


2) CATEGORY: ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
(a) RECYCLING ACTIVITIES IN RECYCLING CENTRE
(b) TREE PLANTING
(c) CONDUCT A RECYCLING CAMPAIGN IN KDU AND DAMANSARA AREA
(d) CLEAN BEACH AND WATERFALL
(e) ZOO NEGARA VISIT AND HELP ZOO KEEPERS (FEED ANIMALS AND CLEAN CAGES)
(f) VISIT FRIM – MAYBE WITH ORPHANS (FOREST RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF MALAYSIA)


3) CATEGORY: FUND-RAISING
(a) SELL KDU LEO CLUB BADGES
(b) CAR WASH
(c) SELL HOME-MADE CAKES
(d) DECORATE USED BOXES AND SELLING THEM (COMBINATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES - RECYCLING, INNOVATION AND FUND-RAISING)
(e) SELL DRINKS (FUNKY FLAVOURS) IN KDU (SIMPLE, BUT QUITE EFFECTIVE)


4) CATEGORY: LEOS SERVING WITH LIONS (JOINT PROJECTS WITH SPONSORING CLUB LCTT)
(a) TADIKA LANTERN FESTIVAL – COLLABORATION WITH LCTT AND SMKDU
(b) ANNIVERSARY DINNER
(c) VISIT TO LEPROSY CENTRE, SUNGAI BULOH


5) CATEGORY: LEOS WITH CHILDREN
(a) GIVE FREE TUITION TO UNFORTUNATE CHILDREN
(b) BRING ORPHANS TO ZOO NEGARA
(c) VISIT ORPHANAGES – DISTRIBUTE FOOD
(d) ORGANIZE A SPORTS COMPETITION FOR A FEW HOMES (IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHILDRENS DAY)


6) CATEGORY: CLUB BULLETIN
(a) QUARTERLY PRODUCTION OF CLUB HANDBOOK (4 THIN HANDBOOKS FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR)


7) CATEGORY: LEADERSHIP SKILLS / SEMINARS
(a) LEADERSHIP TALK (PREFEREBLY IN KDU)
(b) HOW TO BECOME A CONFIDENT WORKER??
(c) ATTEND LEADERSHIP SKILLS WORKSHOPS/ SEMINARS


8) CATEGORY: SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
(a) FELLOWSHIP TRIPS TO SUNWAY LAGOON, GENTING HIGHLAND
(b) ANNIVERSARY DINNERS
(c) TALKS AND ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE THAT MEMBERS STAY MOTIVATED


9) CATEGORY: INTERNATIONAL RELATIONSHIP (BIG PROJECT)
(a) FUNDRAISING PROJECT – DANCE COMPETITION (PREFEREBLY ON CAMPUS)
(i) INVITE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FROM DIFFERENT EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS TO PERFORM
(ii) PRIZES MAY BE GIVEN OUT FOR DIFFERENT CATEGORIES
(iii) ADVERTISEMENT CAN BE THROUGH THE R.A.G.E STAR OR STAR EDUCATION
